Kathy Beckus Painting - The Lilly Pond

Kathy Beckus has held a life long interest in the field of visual arts. She began drawing and painting at an early age, which led to her majoring in the fine arts program at Northern Illinois University. She then went on to receive her degree in graphic design from the American Academy of Art Academy. She pursued a career in advertising, working on both national and international accounts as an Art Director and Graphic Designer, but her true interest was always in the field of Fine Art.

She now devotes her full attention to her true interest. Kathy studied sculpting under Mustafe Naguib, water color under Irving Shapiro, and participated in workshops under the direction of Charles Vickery, also shoeing in his gallery, "The Clipper Ship." She has participated in numerous juried shows, has been represented by both national and international galleries, and has been published. With her background in design, Kathy places strong emphasis on visual impact, without losing the element of sensitive atmospheric perspective so evident in her work. Kathy subject matter is primarily Figurative.
